Restaurant Week has begun! First up: Co Co Sala!

Summer 2013 Restaurant Week is here!

First up on my list, Co Co Sala!

How to sum it up…in a word…YUM!!

I’ve been here for drinks before, but not for food. Definitely delicious! We, a group of fabulous ladies and I, arrived before 7pm to ensure we could grab some cocktails on happy hour. Their drinks are exquisite, but a little pricey. Worth it? Yes. You’ll get a cocktail here that you cannot get anywhere else.

Started off with my favorite cocktail:

This tastes like a chocolate covered strawberry. It’s amazing.

Then, meal-time.

First they brought each of us a frozen hot chocolate shooter:

This was good, didn’t LOVE it. Honestly could have used a touch more sweetness (tasted more like unsweetened cocoa than a delicious creamy hot chocolate). It was good, but I wouldn’t order it if it didn’t come as a given on the restaurant week menu.

Next, salad course. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad:

This was a really good salad! The crispy chicken was perfect, and there was just the right amount of dressing. Tasty! The other option was a Tomato Burrata dish.

This was really good! The cheese and tomatoes tasted nice and fresh, and the balsamic really ties in all together.  Great starter to a meal.

Then, the “main course.” Each person gets to choose two items.

My first choice was the Crabcakes

SO good!! Really creamy. I’m not going to lie, they look like boobs. I could have done with a little less filler in the crabcake, but overall very good and crispy.

My second item for the “main course” was Shrimp Mac & Cheese

YUM!! Cheesy goodness. There were more shrimp within the mac & cheese in addition to the one on top. The portion seemed kind of small, but it was really rich and very good.

Others at our table got….

Bacon Mac & Cheese. This was AWESOME! I liked the cheeses better in this one than the shrimp one. If I go back, I’d get this instead of the shrimp mac. Oh yeah, and that’s chocolate covered bacon on top. WHAT?! Yes, please.

These are Buffalo Chicken Sliders. I definitely want to try these some time. They looked awesome (and my friend said she really enjoyed them)!

Strawberry Caprese Flatbread. This was really good! The flavors all melded really well together. I would order this if I went back too.

And finally, for the best part, the desserts.

There were two options on the restaurant week menu.

I got…

dark chocolate mousse / vanilla crème brulee / salted caramel / crispy chocolate pearls / brownie / chocolate sorbet / cinnamon toffee bon bon

The Chocolate Onyx. YUMMOO! Beware, if you do not like chocolate, this is not the dessert for you. (but if you don’t like chocolate, I wouldn’t recommend going to a restaurant called Co Co Sala…just sayin’) This was sooooooo good! The vanilla creme brulee was inside that chocolate cake-looking square. Lots of flavors, all delicious.

The other dessert was:

Some More Co Co. THIS was my favorite dish of the night. There’s the chocolate creme brulee with toasted marshmallow and graham cracker crumbs on the left, the brownie in the middle, and the shooter on the right. I would order this every time going forward. Loved.

This was a great choice for restaurant week!! If you’re crunching the numbers, it does work out to be a “deal,” so definitely worth doing during restaurant week.

As a chocoholic, I had pretty high hopes and expectations for this place, and it was wonderful. Tasty, unique food, rich chocolate drinks and desserts, all with amazing friends. What more could you ask for?
