Ya know, if/when I open a bakery, maybe it should just be called Chocolate & Peanut Butter.
To continue with my love of chocolate-peanut-butter baked goods, I created these!

Peanut Butter Oreo Dark Chocolate Cream Cheese Brownies!!

See the layers?

That’s a layer of fudgy dark chocolate brownie, a layer of peanut butter Oreo cream cheese mixture, another layer of brownie,  a top layer of PBO cream cheese, and topped with more crushed Oreos!!

Oh.My.Goodness. YUMM

Oh and I should mention, I started to sprinkle some crushed up dark chocolate peanut butter cups and mini milk chocolate peanut butter cups after the first layer of peanut butter mixer. I stopped because I decided it wasn’t really necessary, but see those really gooey parts (above)? That’s from the dark chocolate peanut butter cups! Maybe not totally necessary, but soooo goood….

Now that I have you drooling, here’s the recipe!

Peanut Butter Oreo Dark Chocolate Cream Cheese Brownies!!

Ingredients:

Peanut Butter Oreo Cream Cheese Mixture:
12oz cream cheese (1 1/2 8oz bricks), room temperature
1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/2 package of Oreo cookies (or in this case, Trader Joe’s Joe Joe’s)

Dark Chocolate Brownies:
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter (2 sticks, unsalted)
2 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
3/4 cup unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder

Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line a 13×9 inch baking pan with foil. Spray the foil with cooking spray.

2) For peanut butter mixture: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and peanut butter together.  Add in the eggs and the sugar and beat well. Add the milk and Oreos and beat until combined. Set aside.

3) For Brownies: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

4) In a separate large bowl, melt the 2 sticks of butter.  Add the sugar and vanilla and mix well.  Add in the eggs and beat very well.  Add in the cocoa powder. Finally, fold in the flour mixture until it’s all combined.

5) Now, here’s the layering.  Spread about half of the brownie mixture into the prepared pan.  Then, spread about half of the peanut butter mixer on top.  Followed by the rest of the brownie mixture, and lastly with the rest of the peanut butter mixture. Top with some more crushed Oreo-type cookies.

6) Bake in preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.  Cool completely (or not!) on cooling rack.  Use the foil to lift the brownies out of the pan. Cut & enjoy!!
